A quick stop at CP6 then to the cafe for a burger
20:02 Teams have been coming into CP6 at regular intervals.
Mawson arrived at 17:10 after spending some time at one of the high country
huts trying to warm up. The team made good use of the fire that was left
by the last occupants drying out some clothes to try and get warm again.
After a quick transition they were back out trying to get some more kilometers
under their feet before night fall.
17:15 - Securify.co.nz came into transition after visiting the cafe on
the way. The strategy for tonight was still a little unclear, the first
hut was a little too close but pushing on past that would mean that they
would need to camp out.
19:05 GuRus decided to take a quick sleep at CP6.
19:22 Outdoor Australia rocked into CP6 after taking shelter at a hut
for some warmth 5km up the road. Like Mawson they were pretty pleased
to find the fire still going. Steve had felt the cold quite a bit and
had to do some mid hike layer changes and Andrew's feet were giving him
some slight trouble but nothing too serious. There was much debate as
to if they wanted to go to the top of the hill to get a hamburger or if
a pie would suffice. After a quick transition the team was back out, the
game plan for tonight was to try and push for a hut between Falls Creek
and Mt Bogong, and then make a push for the kayak.
19:50 More training required came in feeling pretty good, with Charlie
complaning slightly of sore feet. The team then ducked off to to grab
a burger and then have bunked down for some sleep at the CP. At this stage
they are still asleep at CP 6.
20:31 The hut at CP 6 is full house, the GuRus have woken from their
nap and were getting ready to go out and Starfactor and the Muppets were
in at the CP both teams using the warm dry room to get some sleep.
We are still waiting on team Caffeinated to come into CP6, all other
teams have been short coursed and will not pass through this check point.
Caffeinated are due in soon.
