Teams about to start the 4th XPD in the Australian High Country
After a 6 hour bus trip teams arrived at the gates to Mt Buffalo to unpack
their bikes and get ready for the start of XPD. There was a lot of nervous
energy as all of their gear was unloaded out of their bike boxes, some
last minute snacks were packed into their packs and lights were fitted
to their bikes.
"I am just really keen to get started, and then from then on in my
focus will be on the chairlift at Thredbo" said Gaz from Team Big
Fish.
Teams are now on the bus on their way up the mountain to the Mt Buffalo
Chalet where the starters gun will go at 2:00!
The weather has been reasonably kind for the start of the race, a cool
alpine breeze is around and a very light sprinkle of rain.
The view from the start line is absolutely spectacular and teams have
an amazing alpine trek in store for their first leg.
